POSITION:             Facility Master Plan Project Director

POSITION SUMMARY: The role of the Facility Master Plan Project Director represents a dynamic opportunity to oversee the planning, development, design and construction of a $350-$450 million state of the art hospital expansion which is scheduled to be completed within the next 5-7 years. The Project Director will coordinate project stake holders and contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, consultants, and engineers during the planning, design, construction, and post occupancy evaluation phases of specifically assigned capital projects. The Project Director ensures that projects are planned, designed, and constructed according to Stamford Hospital’s specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Facility Master Plan Project Director will provide executive leadership and guidance for the capital project including:    
• Lead the development process of project plans, design, & budget preparation for the new state of the art facility.
• Provide onsite supervision of construction activities for a variety of projects including remodel, renovation, and new construction.
• Develop and maintain project programs and schedules involving external agencies, clients, consultants, and contractors, and sub contractors.
• Prepare, coordinate, revise, and monitor various construction related schedules, plans and documents. 
• Collaborate with architects during all preliminary phases including: Pre-design, schematics, and working drawings.
• Coordinate the services of executive architects, engineers, contractors and inspectors during project planning, design, and construction
• Assist in providing calculated measurements and documentations in the areas of scheduled maintenance plans, ADA compliance, space inventory and capital outlay budget change proposals.
• Ensure the preparation of Stamford Hospital’s five year capital construction plan.
• Manage construction budgets for projects as assigned, all aspects of construction projects to ensure completion of projects in accordance with plans and specification, project schedules as assigned.
• Conduct and coordinate final Inspections of project as assigned, coordinates project construction closeout procedures& arranges for official acceptance of projects on behalf of the District.
• Coordinate and conduct pre construction meetings and construction progress meetings.
• Review cost proposals/field orders and change orders for accuracy in terms of scope of work, labor and materials, and rates and advises action as appropriate.
• Oversee building commissioning in partnership with site maintenance pre and post occupancy.
• Represent Stamford Hospital at design and construction meetings and other regulatory agency meetings.

EXPERIENCE: The Facility Master Plan Project Director will be a highly talented professional with significant experience and a history of success in planning, directing and coordinating the full range of functions relating to the construction of a new healthcare facility including medical equipment planning for large scale projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience serving the healthcare provider sector and a proven track record of successful project completion.

The Project Director must have knowledge of project management principles for building construction, experience and proficiency in budgeting and cost estimating, knowledge of the theory and practices of engineering and architecture related to the design and construction of hospital buildings and their mechanical, electrical and other energy systems, principals of design for comfort, ADA accessibility, safety, operational effectiveness and efficiency, and convenience of health care buildings.

The Project Director will have thorough knowledge of all applicable building, life safety, fire and health codes and regulations applicable to new construction and renovations including AIA Guidelines, JCAHO, International Building Code, OSHA, and NFPA.

EDUCATION: Position requires a Bachelors Degree in Architecture, Construction Management or Engineering with an advanced degree preferred plus a minimum of fifteen years experience in the healthcare industry.

Director of Plant Operations

Responsibilities:  The Director of Plant Services will have day-to-day oversight of the plant operations, contracted biomedical services, housekeeping, and security departments.  The director reports to a vice president and oversees approximately 23 non-unionized FTEs.  This position will be responsible for strategic planning, human resource management, budgeting, new equipment procurement and installation, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:  Qualified candidates will be bachelor’s prepared, preferably with a degree in an engineering-related field, with three to five years of leadership experience in an acute-care hospital setting.  Ideal candidates will be independent, able to inspire confidence and trust, customer focused individuals with a proactive, “can do” attitude.
