Stamford Hospital POSITION SUMMARY: The role of the Facility Master Plan Project Director represents a dynamic opportunity to oversee the planning, development, design and construction of a $350-$450 million state of the art hospital expansion which is scheduled to be completed within the next 5-7 years. The Project Director will coordinate project stake holders and contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, consultants, and engineers during the planning, design, construction, and post occupancy evaluation phases of specifically assigned capital projects. The Project Director ensures that projects are planned, designed, and constructed according to Stamford Hospital’s specifications. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Facility Master Plan Project Director will
provide executive leadership and guidance for the capital project
including: EXPERIENCE: The Facility Master Plan Project Director will be a highly talented professional with significant experience and a history of success in planning, directing and coordinating the full range of functions relating to the construction of a new healthcare facility including medical equipment planning for large scale projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience serving the healthcare provider sector and a proven track record of successful project completion. The Project Director must have knowledge of project management principles for building construction, experience and proficiency in budgeting and cost estimating, knowledge of the theory and practices of engineering and architecture related to the design and construction of hospital buildings and their mechanical, electrical and other energy systems, principals of design for comfort, ADA accessibility, safety, operational effectiveness and efficiency, and convenience of health care buildings. The Project Director will have thorough knowledge of all applicable building, life safety, fire and health codes and regulations applicable to new construction and renovations including AIA Guidelines, JCAHO, International Building Code, OSHA, and NFPA. EDUCATION: Position requires a Bachelors Degree in Architecture, Construction Management or Engineering with an advanced degree preferred plus a minimum of fifteen years experience in the healthcare industry.
